Lexus named presenting sponsor for fourth-annual event, held Labor Day weekend in Highland Park


CHICAGO (August 22, 2022) – The Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) Tour and Intersport announced today an agreement with Lexus to be the presenting sponsor for the 2022 APP Chicago Open, held August 31 – September 4 at Danny Cunniff Park in Highland Park.

The APP Chicago Open Presented by Lexus is a Tier 1 Elite tournament on the APP Tour, where the sport’s top pros will compete in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles events, and vie for their share of a $50,000 prize pool.

As part of Lexus’ sponsorship of the APP Chicago Open, the brand will immerse itself with in-venue branding and visibility at the tournament, including on-site activation spaces and signage, as well as promotion on social media and APP Tour livestream productions.

Tickets for the APP Chicago Open Presented by Lexus are now available for purchase at for just $10 per day. Walk-up tickets for single-day sessions will also be available for purchase at the venue.

The tournament returns to suburban Chicago for its fourth year on the APP Tour, founded by Chicago native Ken Herrmann. The top two men’s singles players in the World Pickleball Rankings, Zane Navratil and JW Johnson, lead a group of seven top-10 players that will compete in the men’s singles draw at the APP Chicago Open Presented by Lexus. Meanwhile, five of the top 10 women’s singles players, highlighted by Jorja Johnson, Anna Bright and Parris Todd, are also part of the tournament schedule.

In addition, 10 of the top 20 men’s doubles and 12 of the top 20 women’s doubles pickleball professionals in the world are expected to participate.
