Pictona to Host APP Daytona Beach Open
APP’s first Major tournament of 2023 to be held next February in Holly Hill, Fla.

HOLLY HILL, Fla. (October 6, 2022) – The Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) announced today that Pictona – one of the world’s newest and most glamorous pickleball facilities — will host the tour’s first Major tournament, the APP Daytona Beach Open, February 8-12.
The APP Daytona Beach Open – the first professional pickleball tournament in Pictona’s history – also is the first of four Major tournaments on the 2023 schedule. Three other Majors will be held in Southern California, Chicago and Dallas – in addition to the Spring Championships in New York City and Fall Championships in Mesa, Ariz.
Pictona at Holly Hill boasts 49 dedicated pickleball courts with permanent lighting, 13 of which are covered. It is home to one of the premier Championship Courts in all of pickleball, which features stadium seating for 1,200, box seats, suites and a press box, creating an impressive atmosphere where the champions for the APP’s first Major of the 2023 season will be crowned.
The two-story Pictona Education Center offers instructional programs, clinics, camps, and a training center for referees and instructors. Other amenities include a full-service restaurant, locker rooms, and a game room featuring table tennis, cornhole, and other activities.
“Pictona at Holly Hill represents the best of the best, and we are committed to providing our players with a world-class experience not just at this tournament but throughout the entire season,” said APP Founder Ken Herrmann. “We are beyond excited to partner with such an incredible facility to host our first Major tournament of 2023.”
“It was an abandoned park two years ago, now it is one of the finest pickleball facilities in the world,” said Rainer Martens, Pictona at Holly Hill founder. “We are thrilled to have the APP bring the Daytona Beach Open to Pictona, located right in the heart of the greater Daytona area. We appreciate the opportunity to present the APP organization and its professional players to our community.”
