The Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP) – powering elite-level professional, amateur and recreational pickleball in the USA and worldwide since 2019 – has announced the appointment of Tom Webb as Chief Marketing Officer. Webb brings nearly 30 years of sports marketing experience in the USA and worldwide to the APP, including roles with teams, sponsors and race promoters in Formula 1, with Austin FC in Major League Soccer, U.S. Ski & Snowboard in Olympic sports, The America’s Cup and Red Bull.

“I’m proud to be joining the APP at such an exciting time for the organization,” commented Webb. “Pickleball is not only America’s fastest growing sport, it is also quickly becoming one of America’s favorite sports. My role will be strongly focused on helping strengthen the APP’s foundational position within the sport, in the USA and internationally, and to create elite platforms that showcase the best players in the world, right through to the millions of people picking up a paddle for the first time. We have ambitious plans for how we build the APP brand, and the profiles of the players, and I’m excited to start work with such a talented team.”

The 2023 APP tournament schedule starts on January 11 with the APP Punta Gorda Open, taking place at Pickleplex in Punta Gorda, Florida. Additional details of the 2023 schedule will be released soon – keep an eye on for more information.
