APP PRO CO-HOST: INDIANAPOLIS & CHICAGO OPENS
Zane Navratil, 25, has been playing pickleball since 2013. “My father introduced me to the game, and it’s something that we’ve shared together for years. I love the sport because it engages all ages, unlike many other sports.” Zane is now ranked as the #1 singles player on the APP Tour.
Zane enjoyed pickleball so much that he left his job as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche in July of 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. “I’m not certain what my career in pickleball will look like, but I know that pickleball is an emerging sport, and it’s something that I want to be involved in for the long haul.” “It’s incredible to be able to play a tour with 18 stops across the country, with more being added all of the time. It makes being a full-time professional pickleball player a possibility.” Zane’s decision to leave his job has paid off as he has claimed multiple medals across the APP Tour in 2020 and 2021. He teaches clinics and camps across the country. “I’m incredibly excited to be co-hosting the Indianapolis and Chicago Opens It’s great to have the Midwest represented on the pro tour, which, before the advent of the APP Tour, catered primarily to Florida, the Southwest, and the West Coast.”
